Janet Patti, Ed.D.

Janet Patti, Ed.D. is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Star Factor Coaching, a leadership development organization grounded in the latest science and practice of emotional intelligence. Star Factor Coaching has been working with leaders, schools, and organizations for over a decade. In Janet’s role, she leads design and delivery of programs for leaders in Education, Healthcare, Business and related fields.

In addition to her role at Star Factor Coaching, Janet is a Professor of Administration and Supervision in the School of Education at Hunter College, CUNY, in New York City. She is renowned in the fields of social and emotional learning and educational leadership development. A pioneer in the field, she is a founding member of the Leadership Team of the Collaborative for Academic Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL). Prior to assuming her university post in 1997, Janet worked for 25 years in Pre-K-12 public schools as a bilingual teacher, school and district administrator and school guidance counselor in New York City and California.

Janet has authored numerous articles, chapters, and books in the fields of leadership development and social and emotional learning, including: Smart School Leaders: Leading with Emotional Intelligence and Waging Peace in Our Schools. She believes that we must provide every child and adult with the tools to develop their emotional selves so that they can make informed decisions in life.

When she is not working, she spends precious time with her husband, daughter and pets.
