Jane Sandbank, Ed. D.

Dr. Jane Sandbank brings to Star Factor her experience as a Star Factor coach in New York City, Connecticut and the Lower Hudson Region and 8 years as Superintendent of Schools in the Brewster Central School District in Putnam County, New York. She has held positions as a secondary English teacher, school and district administrator, and consultant for schools in New York City, Westchester, Rockland and Putnam Counties. She pioneered an Alternative High School in Queens and established one of the first networked English classrooms at the Bronx High School of Science. Her background in diverse districts, city and suburban, has given her a broad perspective in dealing with the complex issues facing school leaders in a rapidly changing environment.

She is currently a trainer for and consultant to the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence in New Haven, Connecticut. Her work with Yale and the Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES where she offers workshops for school leaders, has led to the launching of a Yale Satellite Center for Emotional Intelligence at the Yorktown BOCES Center for Educational Leadership.

She has been an Adjunct Professor of Organizational Behavior at Teachers College, Columbia University, Hunter College Graduate School of Education and at SUNY New Paltz. Jane is founder and CEO of janesandbankgroup, which offers consulting services in Leadership Development, Team Building, Executive Coaching and Strategic Planning. She continues to consult to parent groups and Community Based Organizations across the region with a focus on Adolescent Development (www.janesandbankgroup.com) and is a member of the Channel 13 Educational Advisory Services Committee (ESAC).

Dr. Sandbank earned her doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Teachers College, Columbia University and holds Masters Degrees in Educational Administration, Fordham University and English Literature, Brooklyn College, CUNY.
