Ellen Bergman - Star Factor Coach​Dr. Ellen Bergman brings over 40 years of experience as a special educator and school administrator to Star Factor. She has served as a teacher and special education / pupil personnel director and held superintendent positions in public school districts as well as New York State specialized districts. Ellen is currently an Adjunct at Pace University’s Graduate School of Education and supervises doctoral dissertations for Executive Leadership candidates at St John Fisher College. In addition, she is supervising clinical services at Hawthorne Cedar Knolls UFSD, a specialized public school district located in Westchester County.

She was a founding member of the National Parent Educational Advocacy Coalition, is currently an active member of the New York State Special Education Taskforce and secretary of the WNET Educational Services Advisory Committee. She serves on the Pace University Institutional Review Board, and the Educational Leadership Advisory Board for Manhattanville College.

Dr. Bergman earned her doctorate in Educational Administration from Teachers College, Columbia University. She holds a master’s degree in Special Education from Hunter College and a bachelor’s degree in special and elementary education from Boston University.. She has developed special education leadership curricula for Teachers College, Columbia University, published on Narrative Education, Inclusion and Homebound Instruction and consulted during the university accreditation process for Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) and the New York State Education Department. She has also taught educational administration at the State University at New Paltz, Pace University and the College of New Rochelle.

Interesting Facts

I love to travel and always bring home snow globes to remind me of my trips. It is a tradition for students visiting my office to shake at least one before they leave!
