Allison A. Holzer is a consultant, author, entrepreneur, and coach with a passion for challenging leaders to leverage the power of their emotions to achieve success. At Star Factor Coaching, she leads efforts on coaching process and content design and thought leadership publications. In addition, she is the Co-Founder and Chief Innovation Officer of InspireCorps (www.inspirecorps.com), a consulting firm dedicated to smart, sustainable inspiration for leaders, teams, and organizations. At InspireCorps, Allison leads delivery, product design, and operations with an eye toward translating cutting-edge research into practical application. As an executive coach for Star Factor Coaching, InspireCorps clients, and Yale SOM business school/executive education students, Allison partners with clients to identify leverage points to enhance their leadership and performance capabilities. She translates the latest research into concrete, evidence-based coaching practices that help clients feel inspired, increase confidence, and achieve success.
Prior to her current role, Allison was Director of Coaching for the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence, founded by Peter Salovey, President of Yale and one of the pioneers who coined the term “emotional intelligence (EI).” Also, Allison was a Senior Consultant for RULER, an EI consulting group founded by Dr. Marc Brackett, Director of the Yale Center for EI. During that time, she realized the importance of emotion awareness and agility in order for leaders to successfully inspire others and execute on business strategy. She still consults for the Yale Center for EI and collaborates with them on scholarly publications related to EI, leadership, and coaching.
Finally, Allison is an active thought leader with several published, peer reviewed articles and a book chapter on coaching and emotional intelligence. Her most recent article (2015) co-authored with Dr. Brackett, Dr. Patti, and Dr. Stern in the journal Coaching: An International Journal of Theory, Research, and Practice is titled: “Twenty-first-century professional development for educators: a coaching approach grounded in emotional intelligence.”
Allison lives in West Hartford, CT with her husband, two young boys, and rescue dog. She loves swimming, kick-boxing, and going on traveling adventures with her family.

Interesting Facts
In 2008, I co-authored and illustrated a children’s book about recycling called Jenny Makes a Junkyard Friend. I started my first business at the age of 8 carving soap into the shape of horses and selling them door-to-door during the Kentucky Derby; I was approached by a major department store to sell them in house.
What I love about coaching: I was introduced to coaching through the Coaches Training Institute in 2003 and the inaugural Institute of Coaching Conference at Harvard in 2008. During that time, I realized the impact that one-on-one connection and insight could have on an individual’s self-awareness, emotion management, and peak performance. Driven to understand the science behind the practice of coaching, I have immersed myself in the academic study and training of applied positive psychology and emotional intelligence at the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence and the Institute of Coaching (Harvard).
