Barry Daub began his career in Financial services. Barry worked for the NYC Department of Education for twenty-five years as a Special Educator in the capacity of teacher, coordinator, assistant principal and Principal all at P811M-The Mickey Mantle School, NYC Department of Education,
Barry believes that with hard work and perseverance we can touch each child both academically, socially and emotionally in a special way. The key to success is keeping the lines of communication open among staff, students, and parents. Barry is a facilitative leader who believes that teamwork is the ultimate way a school can be successful in reaching the goal of helping a child attain his or her full potential.
The P811M Student population included early childhood, elementary and middle school special education students with multiple disabilities, autism, severe emotional/behavioral needs and/or severe language/communicative disorders. While at the Mickey Mantle School Barry worked to establish a common SEL awareness and language around SEL skills, words and feelings. With this mindset, he and his staff worked to identify, implement, integrate, assess and sustain social-emotional learning programming to increase student engagement, academic and social-emotional skills and student independence.
Barry has also been an Adjunct Faculty Member at his alma mater Hunter College, CUNY: New York, NY, where he taught Educational leadership.
